Time Flies...

I realize you are all well aware of the fact that time flies. But today I'm reminding you so maybe you'll take a little break from the craziness of the day and enjoy some quiet moments.

This morning, as my seven-year old son was leaving for school, I was marveling at how big he's gotten. Seven years old and he is so tall -- the top of his head is at the top of my shoulder already! Granted, I'm short -- about 5'4" -- but my goodness he's getting big. It's hard to believe that not so long ago, he was a toddler. Not anymore.

Later, as I was getting my two-year old out of his crib, I realized how big he's getting too. I asked him if he would stay little for me -- he said yes. (The child says yes to most every question I ask, but that's okay -- I'll take it!) Then, as if he sensed I was feeling a little bit sad about my children growing up, he hugged me as tight as he could and let me hold him and rock him for a good four or five minutes. He's been very lovey this morning -- and I am eating it up!

So today is one of those days when I feel the need to just enjoy the moments. Yesterday was hectic -- tomorrow is going to be hectic. Today, could be hectic if I let it be -- but I think I may just not worry too much today about cleaning and what not. I'm going to enjoy my kids and let the other stuff go (a little bit anyway). Because really -- time DOES fly and these moments will be gone before I know it.

Why don't you do the same?? Take some time today to just enjoy your family -- your pets -- your friends. Don't worry too much about all the "stuff" that's always going to be there. It's not going anywhere.

So have a happy, happy Friday -- and enjoy the weekend!

I agree, the time is flying and its leaving little hints here and there to tell us to slow down and relax, sometimes we get it and at other times we don't...thanks for sharing it.
