I believe I have stumped everyone with my last post title...I know a couple of you who probably know the answer, so I am going to wait before I give it away.
The title for today's post is actually a 70s song I think -- but I bet you know who sings it.
And now let me tell you -- there is NOTHING easy about Sunday morning at this house. I don't know what it is -- but it is almost always a nightmare. No matter how early I start getting myself or the kids ready -- we always seem to have troubles on Sunday as we get ready for church.
I won't give you all the details -- it actually is a source of great frustration for me. But sometimes, some of the things that happen do make me laugh. Not at the time -- but much later in the day.
For example -- today, my youngest was a bit of a pill in church. A little tempermental, a bit loud off and on. The highlight had to be when he belted out "All hail Plankton!" during a somewhat quiet moment. For those of you who don't know, Plankton is a character (kind of the bad guy) in SpongeBob. In one SpongeBob movie he tries to brainwash the sea creatures into becoming his followers and they are all chanting "All hail Plankton!". Apparently, the brainwashing worked on my three-year old and he was looking to recruit some followers at church. Now, normally I wouldn't say this -- but today, I was thankful that my son is a bit behind on his speech and is hard to understand. I do not think anyone who heard him (and believe me -- plenty of people heard him!) understood what he said. But my family did and we had to really work not to laugh.
Sunday mornings are always a struggle with my daughter and what she will wear. I like her to wear dresses, but we don't always see eye to eye on which dress she wants to put on. She never used to be so particular about her outfits. But on Sundays, she is full of attitude.
And my oldest -- (sigh) -- I would not even know where to begin with him. He is usually my biggest struggle on Sunday mornings.
By the time we leave for church I am so aggravated that I wonder how I will get anything out of the service at all. Somehow I manage -- but by the time we get home a nap sounds really, really good!
So to whomever wrote those darn lyrics about being easy "like Sunday morning" -- try spending a Sunday morning at my house!

"All hail Plankton!". ..... how in the heck did you not bust out laughing is beyond me...I would have been loudly guffawing! LOL
As for the song title is it Lionel Ritchie/Commodores?
Hope the rest of your Sunday was mellow! and next time I'm in church I'll be thinking of your son and silently shouting "All hail Plankton!". LOL
K- i just left this big old long comment, and I don't know where it went.
Here's the jist:
All Hail...Maybe he is getting more than you think from church: ALL HAIL sounds religious.
SO FUNNY either way.
NOT easy on Sunday Mornings at our house either, but it's got to be worth it.
well do I dare tell you how easy it is for me on Sundays. I got up at 9 took a shower and chillaxed all day. Bad me. LOL
Someday it will be easier, maybe when they are all over the age of ??? LOL
Rita, I can imagine what it must be like for you. One of the guys that plays in the bell choir with me has a daughter who will be turning three in a couple of weeks, and there have been times when she's caused something of a commotion during the service (like yelling "Yay, Daddy" after the bells finished playing one time). Hopefully, the impulse control will be there soon... :) As for the song, I believe Jayne has it correct, and she beat me to it, darn her!!
OHHH MY! I love the All Hail Plankton! How adorable is that! At least you can laugh later!
OMG, too funny!! That totally sounds like something one of my kids would say during church! LOL!
