She's a Mommy's Girl

It has been a crazy month and I have been a slacker here on my blog. As we gear up for a new year, I thought I'd sneak in what may be my final post for 2008 and give you an update on our new furry family member, Nola.

Nola has been here nearly two months now and is settling in quite nicely. She is playful and SO lovable! She loves to snuggle right up next to you and she is incredibly soft. The kids LOVE her and she loves them too. However, she seems to be my sidekick for now, as she follows me absolutely everywhere I go. I cannot leave the room without her underfoot, which is sweet, but also kind of annoying sometimes. I'm sure she's going to make me fall down the stairs or trip and fall on my face one of these days. Matt also said she cries for me when I leave the house sometimes. How sweet and sad is that? As much as I still miss Apollo, it is really nice to have another furbaby who is so very sweet and loving.

This photo is Nola on Christmas (can you see her stocking in the background???) She was very tuckered out at this point along with the rest of us! How was your Christmas? Ours was low key and relaxing and wonderful. We are usually traveling for Christmas and we finally got a chance to stay home this year. I have to say -- I LOVED it! I loved that my kids were able to wake up in their own beds and have Santa come to our house. I loved that they had the whole day to enjoy their new presents. I loved that we went to our own church on Christmas Eve. I loved that we were together and healthy and celebrating the holiday without too much chaos. It was really nice.

I think I will spend today packing up the Christmas tree and decorations. I usually like to leave them out until the New Year, but I am just itching to get my house back in order. It feels so cluttered at this point and it's making me a little crazy. I think it will help get the New Year off to a good start if I can get things pretty much in order before the 1st.

Alright -- I hope I have not bored you to tears with today's highly unexciting post. I tried to visit some of your blogs last week and will continue to try and sneak in some blog time this week. I miss all my blog visits!

Have a great week!

Rita it sounds like you had a very nice Christmas, and I'm sure you were relieved not to be traveling. Good to hear that your doggy is fitting in nicely. That's a good thing. When you done taking down your tree, would you mind coming here and doing ours? hee hee kidding with ya. Just thought since you were warmed up, you would be on a mission.
Well dear, may you and your family have a lovely New Year's.

What a cutie Nola is, glad she fits right in. I bet it was nice to be in your own home. We went to my brothers on eve and then Christmas day was spent at home. It was nice.
I hope the New Year brings us lots of love and happiness.
