Batton Down the Hatches!!!

It's a Tennessee snow storm -- and I didn't even run out for supplies. Hee hee -- I am so mean -- but when we have a winter storm watch here I have to chuckle -- because I'm from Illinois -- and as you can imagine, a winter storm in Illinois involves just a little more snow than what you see here. Even Apollo is wondering where the rest of the snow is! LOL
(And to be fair, I realize the mountains around us probably get more snow than we do where we live!)

I am also reminded of the day last year when my hubby took my son to school and it was deserted. He called me and said "School is closed -- they have a snow day." I looked outside to see a whole bunch of nothing. Not a snowflake as far as the eye could see. I thought he was lying and laughed at him. But it was true. Apparently the school buses could not travel up the hills as the roads were icy, which makes sense. But when you're from Illinois, you are used to not having a snow day until there is about 22 feet of snow, okay?

Moving on...

My dear friend Christi included me in her list the other day of bloggers who "make her day" and it's time for me to return the love! It's a You Made My Day Award and here is how it works -- you are to give the award to up to 10 people whose blogs bring you happiness and inspiration and make you feel so happy about blogland! Let them know by posting a comment on their blog so that they can pass it on. Beware! You may get the award several times!
Now I have quite a list of people I could give this to, but I am going to start with these friends who always brighten my day by visiting my blog and leaving comments and whose own blogs make me laugh, inspire me and often give me wonderful things to ponder. I will probably have to do this again sometime so I don't leave anyone out, but today I choose:

Christi
Alice
Jayne
Nancy
Carolyn
Linda
Suzanna
Dawn
Mary Jo
Theresa

As I said -- this isn't everyone I could have listed. I am thankful for all of you who take the time to read my ramblings. And I love to keep up with you and your thoughts on your blogs.

On that note -- I'm off to prepare for my day in the elements -- gotta bundle up to get through that blizzard out there! Ha!

Thanks Rita! I love my award!!! It is my very first blogging award, and I am very happy it came from one of my most loyalist blogging friends. I can't believe that I knew you for so long without knowing about your blog. You could have been inspiring me to write in all of 2006.

I don't want to sound unappreciative or anything, but I a have a quick question. I am just wondering where the little button is that I can post on my blog?

I have been waiting for one of those little button awards, like all the other real bloggers have. I was thoroughly disappointed to not be able to have that button.

I think you should create one really cute button made of scrapbooking stuff and you can scan it and send it my way, so that I can post it....

You know, just in case, the snow today is keeping you inside bored with nothing else to do. he he

Don't get me wrong...I love my award....sometimes it is hard to leave a comment because the sarcasm cannot be construed in the comment itself and you worry that people will just think you are being rude.

So, just in case, the button thing is sarcasm, but there is 90% of truth in sarcasm and FYI you would make my year, not just day, if you ever decide to send me an award with an attached button.

okay, you're scaring me now...have I mentioned that we're moving to Illinois this summer?!?! I think that I have gotten too acclimated to NC weather which seriously even milder than what you get in Knoxville!

*mwaaa* Love you, girlie!! smiles...

Dear you make my list too, and I'm not just talking about blogs. It was sweet of you to put my name on your list.

I hope that snow storm isn't too bad. hee hee You know I am laughing with you, guess you have to be from the North to understand. I just had someone here from TN, and she was freezing her butt off, and it hasn't even gotten real cold yet, or the real snow. I guess if the big storm hit, it was be a moment for her to remember.

oh and rub ons & music go so well together...wink!

thanks for the award sweetie!

I hope you survived the "blizzard" LOL Hmmm, wonder if you can make a teeny snowman with that teeny amount of snow! LOL

Christi -- don't be scared! LOL I lived in very, very Northern Illinois (practically Wisconsin) -- won't you be in a more Southern location??

thanks for including me in your list! (((hugs))) to you my friend!

Well aren't you the sweetie. Thanks for mentioning me in your list.

Hope you got through the storm OK...LOL. Since I live in Wisconsin, I can attest to the things we consider "to bad to go to school" weather and that isn't it. Every location is different. I can say your snowstorm is similar to the ones we had in Albuquerque and that amount of snow (that you had) would shut down school too...LOL

Now I must go and spread my blogging joy to the masses...I will wear my crown with dignity...and a margarita in my hand.

aren't you the sweetest thing. Thanks for my award. Yeah. Look at Apollo he sure looks curious.
Shoot live in MI, when schools are closed there are alot more people driving around out there, they live for the white stuff. but they do drive crazy.

I just read your blog post about snow. As I'm typing this in Illinois....with snow up to half of the front door...I'm chuckling about what you've written. At least until I have to go and shovel the stuff outside! :)
