First, before I get to the "nostalgic" part of my post...here is my latest scrapbook page inspired by my good friend Christi on her creative prompt blog. I love this ad she chose and had so much fun with this page! It's nothing elaborate -- cardstock, rub-ons and some circle & hole punches -- but I'm happy with the result.
Now on to the title of my post...it's what my hubby said to me when he walked into our family room last night and heard the mix of CDs I had put in our player -- Journey, Billy Joel (not the newer stuff, but "Glass Houses"), Janet Jackson, Hootie & the Blowfish and Eric Clapton.
I'm not quite sure why I chose this particular mix, but I do know it was because of my visits to Carolyn's blog that I was in the mood for Journey. Carolyn has a great music play list on her blog. I could just leave it up all day and listen. And although my music choices were not made in order to be nostalgic, I do have to say -- whenever I hear Journey, I definitely feel nostalgic. All of a sudden my senior year of high school in particular comes flooding back to my memory.
Do you have certain music that reminds you of high school? I graduated in '87, so I can think of so many bands from that time period that I enjoyed. But Journey, Rick Springfield, Asia -- and who remembers Glass Tiger?? I swear -- three of my girlfriends and I listened to the Glass Tiger *cassette* (gasp! not a CD, but yes, a cassette tape) over and over and over again! I think I will always love 80s music.
I have once again fallen behind on my blog visiting. I hope to catch up with all of you today if I can.
Happy Hump Day!

First...awesome LO. and cute photo!!!
Second...must be something in the air. I've been feeling super nostalgic lately. About just about everything. I think a quick trip to a tropical island would help LOL
About the music, yeah...brings back some fun memories. I recently added some OLD stuff to my ipod. Lotsa nostalga there!
WOW, I LOVE that page, it's truly gorgeous! I love the way all the elements are combined, it just flows so nicely! And what a cute picture!
Great page Rita.
As for nostalgia, yeah, lots of songs remind me of high school. Sadly my oldest son has most of them on his iPod (he says he likes the old songs...gasp..). I loved Madonna and Journey, Van Halen, Bruce Springsteen, Rick Springfield, Bryan Adams...need I go on?
Rita you know I just love music, it is so much a part of me. Some of my favorites come from the late 70's and throughout the 80's, with Journey being one of them. But only if Steve is singing it. LOL
I'm happy to know you like listening to my selections on my blog. Stop by and listen anytime.
Now this layout of yours...I Love it! it is so eye appealing, perfect coloring, and placement of the rub ons and the kind of rub ons you used on here worked so well. Plus I can't forget that cutie in the picture, no funny face about that picture, it shows happiness of a child.
Now I am off I need to find some Hootie music
Love the layout, as for me I listen to everything. But I'm much older than you and you would laugh at the music I listened to in high school LOL
Love the page...you are truly amazing when it comes to scrapbooking!
Bangles "Eternal Flame" is nostalgic for me...Two words..Chuck Alberton.
gorgeous page rita - i absolutely love it - you are so creative.
as far as the bands from high school - i was totally a metal hair band chickie ;) motley crue, poison, rat, and all the other bands that couldn't survive into the millenium - well crue has as well as brett michaels but the rest of the music .sigh. it was funny that i read this post today because sarah was doing dance dance revolution this morning to walk like an egyptian lol

Love your page Rita, so cute!
Very pretty layout! 80s music RAWKS! So fun and those hair bands and power ballads!
O.k. so today, I heard Phantom of the Opera and I decided that I had a very fancy upbringing...I thought of High School...is that nostalgic...I lived for Phantom of The Opera while in HS
I just love this layout, Rita!! Such a fantastic interpretation of the CP!!
LOL about the music nostalgia...oooh, give me some Bon Jovi {Slippery when Wet!...I wore that cassette out!}, Heart, U2...serious 80's music here! smiles...
Beautiful layout, Rita!
I graduated in '89 and mostly listened to U2, The Smiths, Depeche Mode, and REM.
I so do love 80's music still though!!
Absolutely LOVE that LO, FAB!!
And another thumbs up for 80's music, which we listened to on XM radio on Saturday night - cos we couldn't find anything interesting to watch!! A lot of bad 80's memories, but music kept me going. I did the whole spectrum, New Romantics through popular rock to not so popular rock (?) back to er...the hits. Am I going to be the only one to admit to having a "New Kids on the Block" tape?!!
