Back on the blogging bandwagon...

at least for today.

I have been so bad about keeping up lately. Not only with posting on my own blog, but with visiting the blogs I enjoy as well. After my funky blah mood, my entire household was sick for over a week -- the remnants of that are still lingering for the kids. I feel so far behind, but I also have finally gotten out of my blue mood and am slowly, but surely getting things back on track. Nothing is ever really caught up at our house, so I'm just taking things one step at a time and doing what I can. And to those of you who are used to seeing my posts on your blogs, I apologize for neglecting you -- hopefully, I'll catch up with that a bit too!

Yesterday, I made a big to do list. I didn't accomplish much of anything on it. Instead I enjoyed a gorgeous spring afternoon with my kids outside. My to do list didn't seem all that important as I sat in the sunshine with a cool breeze blowing and the sky looking amazingly blue. I watched the kids as they picked a handful of "flowers" (yes that would be dandelions!) and happily presented them to me. I watched the dog bask in the sun and then run around the yard with a stick. I watched as my kids unearthed a worm and carried him around in a toy shovel -- all the while very interested in watching that worm wriggle around in search of some dirt. It felt so great to finally get some fresh air after being couped up in our sickly house. And it was such fun just taking in the day. I love days like that -- when I can keep calm about all the "stuff" that needs to be done and just focus on the simple pleasures my family and my life present me.

Today, I remind all of you to take time out to catch your breath and enjoy the little things that may escape your notice in the busy pace of everyday life.

Wishing you a day filled with beautiful, happy moments.
