Certain Moments

Do you ever have those moments when you look at something and think...wow...I better enjoy this because it's not going to be like this forever.

I have had a couple of those in the past month or so. When for some reason I just stopped in my tracks and looked at the situation and felt so happy to have the moment.

Both times, it was just the fact that all three of my children were hanging out, content as can be with each other. Once they were watching cartoons and my DH and I happened to be hanging out with them. The dog was right in the middle of all of us. It was quiet and still and we were all just together -- content and happy. No one talking or wrestling or whining or rushing to get somewhere. As the kids get older, I'm sure these moments will become fewer and I don't want to miss out on them now.

Maybe it's because my oldest child is getting so big and we seem to be so much busier these days, that I feel the need to really hang on to these moments. I am a homebody by nature and just so appreciative of the times we can be home, doing nothing in particular and just enjoying each others company.

On the same note -- here is my quote for today -- I'm sure you've heard it before, but I've always liked it --

"Where we love is home -- home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts." ~ Oliver Wendell Holmes

Remember to enjoy the "moments" at your house. I'm guilty of letting them pass me by more often then I should -- but I hope to work harder at realizing and enjoying them.

I totally know what you mean about those moments...and at that time i wish someone would take a snapshot but I wouldn't get up to get the camera in the fear of spoiling the moment.
