I am still here...

It has been a little too long since I last posted. I have been a little "blue" this past week, but am finally snapping out of it. When I'm down, I don't feel much like posting and I certainly don't want to bring anyone else down. So I took a little break.

A couple of days ago, I was flipping through my May issue of Creating Keepsakes and noticed a quote on an Ali Edwards layout that seemed SO perfect for me this week. I think I might frame it and keep it in my scrap space or in a spot where I can read it often. It reads:

Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart. (author unknown)

I love this quote. Because you know what? To me -- there is always too much "noise" -- literally and otherwise. There is always a lot of stuff creating internal and external noise in our lives. This quote just really spoke to me this week.

I have a lot of unwanted "noise" in my life. I have trouble getting through it sometimes. It can make me angry -- it can make me incredibly sad. In my worst weeks it makes me feel hopeless. But that's where my faith should and must kick in. Because somehow, I manage to finally get past it. But in the back of my mind -- I know it will be back.

So here's to finding calm in your heart.

And to all the moms who may be reading my post -- motherhood is an amazing thing, isn't it?? It is what brings me the greatest joy. I wish each of you a beautiful Mother's Day! You deserve it!
