Which Came First...the Chicken or the Egg?

I have been pondering lately why I always feel like my life is completely...hmmm..."disheveled". I look around me and it looks like something exploded in my house. Clothes, shoes, papers upon papers needing to be filled out or filed away, mega amounts of art supplies and toys, toys, toys. Dust, leaves, grass, dirt tracked in on cleats and by the dog. Laundry that grows overnight. Days come, days go -- and not nearly enough is accomplished. Can you say Calgon, take me away?!?!?!? I am overwhelmed and end up wasting time because of it.

Sometimes I wonder if the way I feel inside is caused by what is on the outside -- or if it works the other way around. Am I feeling so disheveled because of my surroundings -- or is the way I'm feeling inside causing the lack of organization on the outside? Reminds me of the whole chicken or the egg question. Which causes the other? Or is it a combination of both and therefore it's just basically a big, vicious cycle that I can't seem to break. It's so frustrating.

Regardless of feeling buried in too many things and not having enough time or motivation, I am so grateful for my life. My children are such a blessing. I swear there are so many days I feel like I am completely failing as a mother -- but then a really great day will come along and I think, okay...maybe I'm doing something right. Maybe. Hopefully.

Anyway -- I realize I haven't been blogging or visiting or keeping in touch like I should. But I am here, just not very focused or organized. I hope all my blogging buddies are doing well and enjoying some peaceful days. Sooner or later I will find my peace -- inside and out.

As I leave, I thought I'd share some recent photos of what is occupying our time these days -- soccer, Easter, and a bonus picture of our pup Nola just because she's so cute. Ignore my windblown crazy hair -- my life is one constant bad hair day! :)

Enjoy your week!

Girl, I'm right there with you! My blog post yesterday is all about "piles around my house" with a few Easter photos thrown in at the end :0)
But you are right. Seriously, at the end of the day we are lucky and blessed to have what we do :0)

The boys sweater vests are to die for!!! Cute cute kids.

And you know I think you are the best mom ever....your disheveled house is just proof of that matter, not the other way around.

Plus, I don't believe that your house could ever look as disheveled as this throw back to the 70's! :) I've got the orange striped wallpaper and all.

I loved hearing from you the other day. Sorry I am so bad at calling back, but I am so glad that you finally blogged so that I could get in touch this way.

And, just so you know, every mom I know is feeling the Spring crunch right now.

I guess it's from all those chickens and eggs running around.

Pictures! YaY! Look at that tall young man standing next to you! I'm inclined to say the egg judging from the number of them in the pictures hehe.

I feel the same way. I can never relax because my work is never done and I feel guilty taking any time to myself.

The pictures are cute as can be.

I hear you Rita... I am traveling in the same boat as you... A friend shared a quote with me and I have put it up at several places in my home to stop me from feeling overwhelmed...
"Start by doing what is necessary; then do what is possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible- St. Francis of Assisi"
Also setting the timer for 15 minutes and working at a task for just that time helped me get some of my sanity back...

By the way, I loved your jacket in the above pictures...

Love those photos!!! What fun! Love the advice given and I'll just add that your kids grow up way too fast....take time to enjoy the *now* even if that means you don't have the perfect house! Your kids are such cuties!!! And so are you girl!!! Hugs!

Adorable kids...adorable dog...I hope you had a great Easter Rita!

As for the buildup in the house...just take it one day (Or hour) at a time! Of course...I really believe that my neighbors are dumping their laundry in my laundry room...:)

stop stressing, as long as everyone is happy and healthy and you can still walk around the house without getting lost in the mess, it's fine! I know where of I speak. Maybe Diane is right, the neighbors ARE dumping their laundry at our houses!!

I agree with Dawn..no need to stress...the kiddos are fed, dressed AND loved! That's what counts!
