Last night, my husband and I had the good fortune to attend a concert by these guys -- that's right, The Eagles. They were amazing, incredible -- simply fantastic!
I have always said the best concert I ever saw was the Eagles when they were on their Hell Freezes Over tour in the early to mid 90s. When my husband surpised me with Eagles tickets this year for Christmas I couldn't believe it.
I hadn't been to a concert since that last Eagles show and I have to admit...I wondered as we were on our way to the show, if they could possibly be as good as the last time I saw them. I mean -- we're talking a 14 or 15 year difference and the Eagles have been around for over 30 years. You always hear stories about older bands not sounding so great as they get older. But I have to say -- I think they were even better than the first time I saw them. They are such talented musicians and they put on such an enjoyable show. Three solid hours or more of music. And when we left, we were thinking of all the songs they DIDN'T play -- and realized if the Eagles played all of their hits at a show (including solo hits by Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh and my boyfriend Don Henley...hee hee) -- it would probably last five or six hours!
They played seven or eight songs from their latest CD, Long Road Out of Eden -- beautiful, beautiful songs. I am getting that CD as soon as I can.
If you ever have the chance to see these guys -- and if you are a fan...heck, even if you aren't a big fan -- you have to go. You will enjoy every minute of it.
And finally I have to give a shout out to my girl Wendy. My husband and I rarely get out of the house just the two of us and especially not on a school night for the kids! Wendy hung out at our house with the kids way past her bedtime so we could enjoy our concert. Thanks Wendy -- you know I love ya!
Hard to believe it's Wednesday already! Hope you're having a good week! Chat with you soon!

Sounds like a great show! I do remember enjoying their performance on MTV unplugged about 15 years ago. They just really seem like a group of guys who just enjoy playing music together :0)
U2 is one of those bands. I am always so amazed that they sound so good live :0)
Glad you had a great time, maybe some day I will see them. Love their music.
Wow Rita that is so cool. I swear the Eagles are like a fine wine, they get better with age. So thrilled for you and your husband to have such a wonderful time.
Yeah for Wendy! I was wondering what you did with the kids.
AND I AM SO DANG JEALOUS!!! I wanted to go to that concert so bad. I love the Eagles.
I also wanted to take the kids to the globetrodders, and Matt did that too.
